About this award / prize

Prizes "in memory of Antonio and Luigi Goi"

For an outstanding Master’s thesis, you will receive a one-off cash prize of up to 2,500 EUR (gross). There are three prizes: 2,500 EUR for first place, 1,500 EUR for second place and 1,000 EUR for third place. The prize is aimed at graduates with a disability and is paid as a one-off lump sum. It is funded by the Fondazione della Comunità Bresciana in collaboration with the University of Brescia.

Who can apply

  • Degree: You must hold an Italian Master’s degree (laurea magistrale, laurea a ciclo unico, laurea specialistica or a degree under the old system, ‘laurea V.O.’). Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree (triennale) are not eligible to apply.
  • When you graduated: You obtained your degree in the academic year 2023/24. Other years will not be accepted.
  • Where you studied: Every Italian university counts, not just the one in Brescia.
  • Disability: You have a disability and can show a valid disability certificate. Students with a specific learning disorder (DSA) may also apply.
  • Age: At the time of applying, you must not be older than 30.
  • Field of study: Any subject.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Financial need: No means test. You do not need to submit proof of ISEE (proof of financial need).

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the PICA platform, which can be accessed via a link on the University of Brescia’s call for applications page. The application deadline is 31 October at 13:00. A selection committee will then draw up a ranking list of applicants, with the greatest weighting given to your final dissertation (70%), followed by your final degree mark (20%) and the degree of your disability (10%).

How realistic are your chances?

This award has strict eligibility criteria: only Master’s graduates with a disability from a single academic year may apply, meaning the pool of applicants is small. If you meet these criteria, you have a genuine chance of success. As the dissertation accounts for 70% of the total mark, a compelling, well-researched piece of work is crucial.
