General Description

The Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard-Stiftung provides grants aimed at aimed at excellent beginning scientists in the field of experimental natural sciences, who see their chosen career threatened by the additional responsibility of caring for one or more children. The amount of the grant will be up to 400 Euro (depending on personal circumstances) monthly for a maximum of one year; funding can be extended for an additional year in exceptional cases.

Requirements

Applicants must be in the initial or middle stages of a doctorate in Natural Sciences. They must provide a letter of reference from the applicant's PhD advisor, the advisor of the post-doctoral project if applicable, and/or one further scientist. These grants are intended to outstanding female scientists who are permanent residents of Germany.
