University of the Basque Country - Grants for Latin American Doctoral Students

What you get

You will receive a scholarship of 6,420 EUR for one year to cover your living expenses whilst undertaking your PhD at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Spain. The University awards this scholarship to early-career researchers from Latin America who are already enrolled on one of its PhD programmes.

Who can apply

• Level: You are a PhD student.
• University: You are enrolled on a PhD programme at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Spain.
• Nationality: You come from a Latin American country.
• Field of study: All participants are eligible to take part.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted by 27 June via the UPV/EHU Doctoral Office. The University’s Doctoral School will assess the applications through its Internationalisation Committee.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very specific: you must already be enrolled as a PhD student from a Latin American country at this particular university. As very few people meet all these criteria, competition is low. If you clearly meet the criteria, your chances are good. Make sure to apply before the deadline, as the application round closes on a set date.
