About this scholarship
General Description
The Special Research Fund provides funding for PhD candidates wishing to pursue a joint doctorate at both Ghent University and a non-Flemish partner university. The beneficiary must stay for at least 6 months and up to 24 months at Ghent University in the span of 4 years. Scholarship funding takes one of two forms. A PhD scholarship provides a monthly stipend € 1,739 while at Ghent University and a promoter bench-fee of € 310 per month. Top-up funding provides a monthly stipend of € 1,000 per month while at Ghent University and a bench fee of € 310 per month for the promoter. The scholarship funding only covers the period of stay at Ghent University. No funding is provided while the candidate is at the home institutionRequirements
This programme is open to PhD candidates who wish to take a joint doctorate at both their home institution and at Ghent University. Candidates must be enrolled as a PhD student at a non-Flemish university or equivalent. Candidates must apply jointly with a promoter of Ghent University. There must be an agreement in place between Ghent University and the other university for the joint doctorate degree.Similar scholarships
