About this scholarship
Benefit
This award gave graduate students at University College, Oxford, a top-up of up to about 2,900 EUR per year (£2,500) for up to three years. It did not cover the full cost of a doctorate. It was one of several partial-funding awards from University College (known as "Univ") for academically outstanding doctoral students. Note: this scholarship has been discontinued and is no longer offered.
Eligibility
- Degree: You were starting a DPhil, Oxford's name for a research PhD.
- Place: You had an offer of a place at University College, Oxford.
- Field of study: Any subject was eligible.
- Nationality: Any nationality could apply. North American applicants were preferred.
- Grades: You needed top academic results, as the award went to the most excellent candidates.
How to apply
There was no separate application. You applied for your graduate course at Oxford by the January deadline. The college then picked scholars from those who received an offer.
