About this scholarship

You will also be provided with an economy-class flight to London at the start of your studies and a return flight home at the end. The scholarship is the result of a partnership between St Antony’s College and the energy company Eni. Two scholarships are awarded each year.
Who can apply
- Degree level: You are starting a one-year Master’s degree programme at Oxford.
- Where you live: You usually live in Angola, Ghana, the Ivory Coast, Kenya or Mozambique.
- Field of study: You must choose a Master’s programme in the social sciences or humanities that is recognised by St Antony’s. Some programmes are excluded from this: the MBA, the MFE, the BCL, the MJur, the MSc in Law and Finance, the MSc in Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and the Environment, and the MPP.
- Grades: You have achieved excellent results at school.
- Plans after study: It is an advantage if you can set out a specific plan for how you intend to use your degree for the benefit of your home country after graduation.
How to apply
First, apply for admission to an eligible Master’s programme at the University of Oxford, ensuring you meet the deadlines for the relevant programme (usually in January). You must then submit the separate Eni-Oxford scholarship application form online by 1 April 2026, 5pm UK time. Please ensure that your application is complete and meets the eligibility criteria, as it will not be considered otherwise.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is granted to very few people: only two scholarships are awarded each year. You must be resident in one of the five countries listed and have been offered a place on an eligible Master’s programme at Oxford. This already narrows down the pool of eligible applicants considerably. If you clearly meet these criteria, have good grades and can demonstrate a concrete plan for how you intend to use your degree in your home country, your prospects are good. The biggest hurdle is securing a place at Oxford in the first place.
