What you get

You will receive a partial scholarship covering part of your tuition fees for the two-year Master’s programme (MSc) in Electrical Engineering, specialising in Microelectronics, at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The exact amount is not specified. The Department of Microelectronics awards up to 2 of these scholarships per academic cycle. It covers the first year. It will only be renewed for the second year if you achieve a grade point average of 8.0 (80%) or higher in your first year of study. There is also an added bonus at the end: if you achieve a mark of 9.0 (90%) or better in your MSc dissertation in the Department of Microelectronics, you will be offered a PhD place there.

Who can apply

• Degree: You have been admitted (or provisionally admitted) to the 2-year standard Master’s programme in Electrical Engineering, specialising in Microelectronics, at Delft University of Technology.
• Previous grades: Your bachelor’s degree has a grade point average of 80% or higher on the maximum scale and was obtained at a prestigious university outside the Netherlands.
• Where you studied: You obtained your most recent degree abroad and not in the Netherlands.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• English: Please submit the results of an English language test together with your application by the deadline.

How to apply

Please submit your complete MSc application, together with the scholarship application form, a letter of recommendation and your English language certificate, by 1 December (23:59 CET). Please upload all documents at the same time as your MSc application, as you will not be able to add any further documents later. Only successful applicants will be notified by the end of March.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding is limited: up to 2 per cycle for a single degree programme. TU Delft receives far more scholarship applications than it can fund. If you clearly meet the grade threshold of 80% and are enrolled on this specific degree programme, ‘Microelectronics’, the pool of applicants is smaller than for an open scholarship, but competition amongst strong candidates is nonetheless real. A compelling personal statement and a complete application pack submitted before the deadline are crucial to setting yourself apart from other applicants.
