About this scholarship
What you get
You get a one-off travel grant from the Hugo de Vriesfonds, a Dutch foundation that supports botany. You choose one of two options: up to 500 EUR to attend a conference on a botany-related topic, or up to 1,000 EUR for a research project that is a compulsory part of your master's degree. You can claim the grant only once during your studies.
Who can apply
- Level: You are a master's (MSc) student.
- University: You study at a university in the Netherlands.
- Field of study: Your studies are related to botany, the science of plants.
- Conference option: If you apply for the conference grant, you can show that attending the conference adds real value to your studies.
- Research option: If you apply for the research grant, the project is a required part of your master's programme.
- Sustainable travel: You cannot claim flights to places you could reasonably reach by train.
How to apply
You apply through the online form on the foundation's website and choose "Reisbeurs MSc" as the application type. There is no fixed deadline. Applications are accepted year-round and the foundation aims to decide within six weeks.
