Radboud University conference grant (Congressubsidie)

You get a daily allowance towards attending an academic conference or symposium abroad: 75 EUR per day for a conference in Europe and 120 EUR per day for one outside Europe. You can claim up to 3 days, so up to 360 EUR in total. For a digital conference you get up to 75 EUR per day (max 3 days), but never more than the registration fee you actually paid. The money comes from Radboud University's Profileringsfonds (a student support fund) in Nijmegen. You can apply as often as you like. There is no advance payment, so you get the money after the event.

Who can apply

• University: You are a full-time student at Radboud University, and you stay enrolled during the conference.
• Faculty: Any faculty can apply, from law, management and social sciences to medicine, science, humanities, and philosophy, theology and religious studies.
• Relevance: The conference is clearly connected to your field of study.
• Your role: You take an active part, for example by presenting a poster or chairing a session. Just attending is not enough.
• Location: The conference takes place abroad. A digital conference must be organised by a foreign institution.
• No double funding: You get no other Radboud University grant for the same period.
• Supervisor approval: Your study supervisor signs a letter confirming that attending is relevant to your studies.

How to apply

Fill in the online web form before the conference starts. Within about one working day you get a grant agreement and an approval form by email. Sign these and email them back, together with your supervisor's approval, before the conference begins. There is no fixed deadline, but everything must be complete at the latest one day before the conference starts. Late applications are not processed.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a practical grant with clear conditions, not a selective competition. If you are a full-time Radboud student, your conference fits your subject, you take an active role, and your supervisor signs off, you meet what is asked. The main risk is timing, so send the full application before the conference starts. The amount is modest and covers only part of your costs.
