About this scholarship

What you get

During your agricultural training, you will receive funding for a study trip or another study-related project. There is a total of no fixed amount. You specify how much you need and attach a budget; a committee will then decide on the amount of your individual grant. The funding comes from the Det Kongelige Danske Landhusholdningsselskab (LHS), which was founded in 1769 and is based at the University of Copenhagen. It supports young people studying Danish agriculture, either by helping them complete their studies or by funding related travel.

Who can apply

  • Training: You are undertaking a basic agricultural training programme (landmandsuddannelse) or an advanced agricultural training programme (videregaaende jordbrugsuddannelse).
  • Your plan: You have a specific project, such as a study trip, and a budget setting out what the money is needed for.
  • Reference: You can ask your subject teacher or another suitable person for a recommendation.
  • Financial situation: You give details of your income, your savings, and whether you receive SU (Danish state student support) or other funding. The committee weighs these up.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Complete the official application form (PDF) and post it to the fund administration in Aarhus. Enclose your letter of recommendation, your financial plan and your latest tax documents. The deadline is 1 October each year.
