FWO - Clinical PhD fellowship

General Description

The Clinical PhD Fellowship sponsors clinicians (doctors, veterinary surgeons, dentists and pharmacists) to enable them to pursue clinical research part time. The Fellowship provides a grant equivalent to 50% of the beneficiary’s salary, capped at €35,000 per year for up to 2 years. For general practitioners, the award is equivalent to the salary of a part-time assistant.

Requirements

You must be a doctor, veterinary surgeon, dentist or pharmacist currently employed in Belgium at an academic hospital or a university veterinary surgery affiliated with a Belgian university. You will need to have a certificate from your supervisor stating that you will complete your PhD for the 2 year duration of the Fellowship. You must not have previously received a similar grant, whether in whole or in part.
