General Description
Masaryk University, located in Brno, Czech Republic, provides economic assistance to its disadvantaged students in the form of Social Scholarships. Aimed at allowing financially depressed students to attend university, these scholarships are available to those students whose family income falls below a certain level. In practice, the scholarship amounts to a monthly stipend of 1620 CZK. Students receive the stipend for half of the academic year or the full academic year, depending on their individual social situation.
Requirements
Full time undergraduate and postgraduate students at Masaryk University may qualify for these scholarships, provided that they have not exceeded the normal length of study. Only students currently receiving a child benefit from the Czech state may apply. Additionally, in order to qualify for the full stipend, students must be able to verify a family income under the coefficient of 1.5 by providing an official document from the appropriate governmental body.
