International Mobility Grant (Graduate Programmes, Universite de Lille)

Benefit

You get up to 3,000 EUR for a traineeship or research trip abroad. The amount is a flat 150 EUR per week, with a 50% top-up on the first four weeks to help cover travel. The money comes in two parts: 70% when you arrive at your placement and 30% at the end, once you hand in the required paperwork. It is paid by the Graduate Programmes of the University of Lille, a group of study and research tracks run with partners such as CNRS, Inserm, Institut Pasteur Lille and Sciences Po Lille.

Eligibility

• Enrolment: You are registered at the University of Lille as a Master's student (M1 or M2) or a PhD student, and you belong to one of the Graduate Programmes.
• What you do abroad: You plan a traineeship abroad, or, if you are a PhD student, a research trip abroad linked to your thesis. This can be at a foreign lab, a public or private institution, an archive or an international organisation.
• Fit: Your project matches the themes of your Master's or PhD programme. For PhD students, your thesis topic must fit a Graduate Programme.
• Grades: Your academic record counts when applications are judged.
• Not funded: Conferences, moves within France, and study-abroad programmes for Master's students.

How to apply

You apply through the MoveOn online portal in English or French. Add a 250-word statement on your plan and your proof of registration. PhD students also add a supervisor's recommendation letter. There are two rounds per year: Call #1 runs 14 October to 14 November 2025, with results on 15 December 2025. Call #2 runs 2 March to 31 March 2026, with results on 29 April 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is only open to students already enrolled in a University of Lille Graduate Programme who have a concrete plan to go abroad, so the pool of eligible applicants is small. If your project clearly fits your programme's themes and you can name a strong host institution, your prospects are good. A well-argued statement and a solid academic record are what set applications apart.
