About this scholarship

Aquisis study-abroad grant (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region)

You get between 180 EUR and 2,300 EUR for a study period abroad lasting 2 to 10 months. The exact amount depends on how long you go, your family income, and which scale applies. There is one scale for Erasmus+ students (the EU exchange programme) and a general one for everyone else. If you have a disability, you can add 150 EUR on proof. You can combine this grant with an Erasmus+ grant, a CROUS grant or other student aid. If you travel by a means other than plane or car, you also get a one-year discount card for the regional Mobigo train network. The grant is paid by the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region in France.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at a higher-education institution in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and attend classes in person on one of its sites.
  • Study phase: You are in full-time education, from year 1 to year 5 of your programme.
  • Where you go: You study anywhere in the world except mainland France and the French overseas territories. The place must be at least 150 km from both your family home and your place of study in France.
  • Part of your course: Your stay counts towards your programme, through Erasmus+ or a partnership between your BFC institution and a foreign one, and your institution approves it.
  • Financial need: Your family quotient (income divided by household size, based on last year's tax notice) is below 25,830 EUR.
  • International applicants: You go to a country other than the one your family lives in.

How to apply

You apply online through the Region's "Envol" platform between 2 January and 25 October, and no later than 30 days after your study period abroad starts. To create your account you need a code from the mobility contact at your institution. That contact also approves your request before the Region reviews it.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is tied to clear conditions: you study in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, you do an approved study period abroad, and you stay under the income ceiling. That narrows it to a defined group rather than open competition. If you meet those conditions and get your institution to approve the stay in time, your prospects are good.
