About this grant / loan
University of Plymouth graduate discount
You get a 20% discount on the full tuition fee of most taught master's programmes at the University of Plymouth. A taught master's is a one- or two-year postgraduate course based on lectures and coursework rather than a research project. The discount applies to the full fee you owe, even if a third party is billed. If you study full-time, you get it at the start of the course. If you study part-time, you get it at the start of each new study year. It is a reward from the university for its own former students who come back for a master's.
Who can apply
- Previous degree: You already finished an honours or master's degree at the University of Plymouth, or at one of its UK partner colleges.
- Fee status: You are a UK alumnus with 'home' fee status. International students cannot apply.
- New course: You are starting a taught master's at Plymouth. Research master's (ResM), other research degrees and integrated master's do not qualify. Some named courses in psychology, clinical psychology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy are also excluded.
- No double funding: You are not already getting a scholarship. If you qualify for two, only the higher one applies.
- Modules: The discount does not cover repeat modules or integrated modules.
How realistic are your chances?
This is not a competitive award. It is an automatic price cut for anyone who fits the rules. If you graduated from Plymouth or a UK partner college, hold home fee status and enrol on an eligible taught master's, you get the 20% off. The main things that rule you out are being an international student, taking an excluded course, or already holding a scholarship.
