About this scholarship

Ambassadeurs de la mobilite scholarship

You get a one-off payment of up to EUR 1,000 to help fund your Erasmus or Erasmus+ study period abroad. The grant comes from the Fondation de l'Universite Jean Monnet in Saint-Etienne, France, which awards 20 of these scholarships each year. In return, you act as an ambassador for your university and the Saint-Etienne region. You share your experience abroad through videos or social-media posts, and you put together a tips booklet for future exchange students. After you return, you join the foundation's ambassador network and pass on your advice to others planning a stay abroad.

Who can apply

  • University: You study at the Universite Jean Monnet in Saint-Etienne.
  • Where you go: You are doing a study period abroad through Erasmus or Erasmus+.
  • Field of study: All subjects are eligible.
  • Willingness to promote: You are ready to make videos, social-media content and a tips booklet promoting the university and the region.

How to apply

You apply through the foundation. For the 2026-2027 cycle the window ran from 26 February to 2 April 2026. Selection has three steps: an information session, then a promotional video presenting the university, and finally a jury of university and regional representatives picks the 20 best ambassadors. They judge you on creativity, commitment and how well you can represent the area.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is narrow: you must already study at the Universite Jean Monnet and be heading abroad on Erasmus, so the eligible group is small. With 20 places each year, your chances are good if you fit and put real effort into your video. The jury rewards creativity and commitment, not grades alone.
