About this scholarship

What the Adam Smith Business School offers

You get a tuition fee discount, and in some cases a cash grant on top, for a one-year full-time master's at the Adam Smith Business School, part of the University of Glasgow. The exact amount depends on which of eight awards you match. Most give a £15,000 fee waiver (about 17,000 EUR). The Global Impact Scholarship gives a full fee waiver plus a £15,000 grant (about 17,000 EUR), the Behavioural Science Scholarship a full fee waiver, and the Scottish Excellence Award a £10,000 grant (about 11,500 EUR) paid monthly. The school has set aside £2 million for these awards for the 2026/2027 year, so there are dozens of places across the different programmes.

Who can apply

  • Degree level: You are starting a one-year, full-time taught master's (MSc, MAcc or MFin) at the Business School in September 2026. Diplomas, certificates, research masters (MRes) and the MBA follow separate rules.
  • Field of study: Business, finance, economics, management, marketing and related subjects. Some awards are tied to one course only, for example the Economics Scholarship (MSc Economics) or the Behavioural Science Scholarship (MSc Behavioural Science).
  • Grades: You have top results, equal to a UK First Class Honours degree.
  • Offer: You already hold an offer for an eligible programme.
  • Nationality: Which award fits depends on where you are from. There are awards for international and EU students, one open worldwide including India and China, dedicated awards for Indian and for Chinese nationals, and one for Scottish home-fee students. The Behavioural Science Scholarship is open to everyone, home and international.

How to apply

First apply for your master's programme and get an offer. Then complete the scholarship application in the University of Glasgow scholarships portal with a personal statement. There are two rounds. The round-one deadline is 23 February 2026, with decisions by 6 March. The round-two deadline is 18 May 2026, or 25 May for the Scottish Excellence Award. For the Entrepreneurial Leaders and Global Impact awards you also submit a two-minute video about the school's values.

How realistic are your chances?

With £2 million spread across eight awards and dozens of places, there is more room here than in a single-winner scholarship. Every award still demands First Class results, so the field is strong. Your best route is picking the award that matches your nationality and course most tightly, since a Chinese-, Indian- or Scotland-specific award has a smaller pool than the open ones. Secure your programme offer and apply in round one, as places fill across the two rounds.
