About this scholarship
What you get
You get a tuition fee discount of about 2,900 EUR (£2,500) for each year of your degree, up to about 11,600 EUR (£10,000) over a four-year programme. This is not cash paid to you. It comes straight off your tuition fees. The University of Sheffield in the UK offers it to international undergraduates starting in September 2027. To keep the discount in later years, you need a yearly average of at least 60% and at least 120 credits from the previous year.
Who can apply
- Level: You are starting a bachelor's degree at the University of Sheffield in September 2027, normally in year 1. Entry into year 2 or 3 also counts, as long as you are not already getting an award through a joint programme with your home university.
- Field of study: All undergraduate courses count except Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200). MArch programmes count as postgraduate and do not qualify.
- Fee status: The university classifies you as an overseas (international) student for tuition fees.
- How you study: Full-time only. Online and distance-learning students cannot apply.
- How you pay: You fund your studies yourself. You cannot hold a full or partial scholarship from an outside sponsor such as a government, research council or charity. A loan you have to repay in full is fine.
- Foundation year: If you are on a non-USIC foundation year, you cannot get this scholarship.
How to apply
There is no application form. The discount is added automatically if you pick the University of Sheffield as your firm or insurance choice on UCAS before 16:00 UK time on Wednesday 2 June 2027. There is no interview. The award cannot be moved to a later year of entry.
How realistic are your chances?
A panel does not pick winners here. If you meet the conditions and choose Sheffield in time, you receive the discount automatically. The real filter is whether you fit the rules, above all being a self-funded overseas student on an eligible course. Meet those and apply before the June deadline, and the award is yours.
