Mouv'Occitanie mobility grants

You get money towards studying or doing an internship abroad. The amount depends on your income, your course and where you go. The main options are:

• An income-based grant of 75 EUR per week, for up to 36 weeks in a year.
• A one-off lump sum of 600 EUR for going to one of the region's partner areas, including Germany, Aragon and Catalonia in Spain, the Balearic Islands, Morocco, Vietnam, Japan, China, Cambodia, Palestine or Ivory Coast.
• A one-off 450 EUR for health and social care students.
• 200 to 310 EUR per month for students on an Erasmus+ health or social track, depending on the destination, with extra top-ups for internships, travel and inclusion.
• An extra one-off 600 EUR if you have a recognised disability. This stacks with any other grant.

The Occitanie / Pyrenees-Mediterranee region runs the scheme and funds around 6,000 young people a year, about 4,500 of them university students.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at a higher education institution in the Montpellier or Toulouse academic regions, or at an approved health or social training school in Occitanie.
• Level: You are in your second year (L2) or higher, up to Master, or on a BTS or other higher qualification. First-year (L1) and PhD students cannot apply.
• Where you go: Your time abroad is a required part of your course, for studies or an internship. A language stay alone does not count.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, including international students. You just cannot go to your own home country.
• Financial need (for the weekly grant): You hold a state or regional social scholarship or emergency aid, or your household income figure is below 20,000 EUR.
• Not eligible: You are taking a gap year, or you live in Occitanie but study at an institution in another French region.

How to apply

You apply first through the international relations office of your own institution. The office pre-selects the students it puts forward. If selected, you get a personal link by email to upload your documents on the region's online portal within 15 days. Applications run on a rolling basis through the year, with no single fixed deadline.

How realistic are your chances?

With about 6,000 young people funded each year, this is a broad regional scheme, not a single contested prize, so a well-matched applicant has solid prospects. The real gate is your own institution: it pre-selects who goes forward within its budget. So your chances depend on fitting the criteria clearly and getting the international office on board early. If your placement abroad is a required part of your course and you meet the level and residence rules, you are in a good position.
