About this scholarship

What you get

You get a one-off 2,000 GBP (about 2,350 EUR) to spend on your tuition fees or living costs while you study law. Five of these bursaries are handed out. You can take one even if you already hold another scholarship, and there is no financial-need test. The money comes from Postgrad Solutions, the team behind the LLMstudy.com database.

Who can apply

  • Course: You are studying, or about to start, a postgraduate law programme. This can be an LLM (a Master of Laws), an LPC, a GDL, a PhD or any other postgraduate law qualification.
  • Subject: Any area of law counts, for example international law, commercial law, human rights law or arbitration.
  • Place: You can study at any law school anywhere in the world.
  • Study mode: Full time, part time, blended or fully online and distance learning all count.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply, from any country.
  • Age: You are at least 18. There is no upper age limit.
  • Offer: You have already accepted a place on your course. You cannot apply before you accept an offer.
  • Start date: Your course starts before the end of January 2027. So starts in January 2026, September or October 2026, or January 2027 all qualify. Courses already running that continue into 2027 also count.

How to apply

You fill in the online form with your course details. You also write a 200-word text explaining why you deserve the bursary. Winners are chosen only on this text, so the strongest argument wins. Your choice of institution does not affect the decision. The deadline is 30 September 2026. Selected applicants then do a short phone and video interview with the bursary team.

How realistic are your chances?

Only five bursaries are offered, but the rules are deliberately wide: any law student, any country and any study mode. So the applicant pool is large and the competition is real. Your whole case rests on one 200-word text, which means a sharp, specific pitch matters more than your grades or where you study. If you can make a compelling argument and apply before the deadline, you have a genuine shot.
