About this award / prize

CGD Merit Awards at ISEC Lisboa

You will receive a one-off cash prize of 1,000 EUR for outstanding academic achievement during an academic year. The funds are provided by Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), Portugal’s state-owned bank, as part of an agreement with ISEC Lisboa (Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciências) in Lisbon. The CGD provides 3,000 EUR per cycle, to be divided amongst up to three students: one participant on a short vocational course (CTeSP), one Bachelor’s student (Licenciatura) and one Master’s student (Mestrado). If no one meets the eligibility criteria at a particular level, this prize will be awarded to a level with more candidates.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled at ISEC Lisboa.
  • Degree level: You study on a short professional course (CTeSP), a bachelor's degree or a master's degree.
  • Field of study: Any subject.
  • Grades: Your average mark is 16 out of 20 or more.
  • Credits passed: You passed at least 60 ECTS in that year, all taken for the first time. Credits from recognition of prior learning do not count. Second-year students on the Master in Pre-school Education need only 30 ECTS.
  • No recent merit award: You have not received a merit-based scholarship either in the current year or in the two preceding years.
  • No debts: You do not owe ISEC Lisboa any fees.
  • More than a final project: If your only work this year was your Master’s thesis (TFM), you cannot apply.

How to apply

Fill in the application form and email it to ISEC Lisboa's scholarship office by 29 April. Within each degree level, students are ranked by average grade, and the top student wins. If two are tied, the one with more completed ECTS wins.
