Instituto Piaget - Merit Award of the Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES)

DGES Merit Award at Instituto Piaget

You get a one-off merit award for a year in which you achieved top grades. The Portuguese Government (Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education) funds the award. Your higher education institution pays it out, in this case the Escola Superior de Educação Jean Piaget de Almada, part of the Instituto Piaget. It rewards strong grades, not low income, so what your family earns does not matter. You also receive a diploma confirming the award.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at the Instituto Piaget in Almada.
• Degree level: You study a licenciatura (first-cycle bachelor), a mestrado integrado (integrated master) or a mestrado (second-cycle master).
• Grades: You have an average of at least 16 out of 20 ("Muito Bom", Very Good) in the academic year concerned.
• Full year passed: You passed every course of that year, worth 60 ECTS credits in total.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Nationality: Any nationality.

How to apply

You do not apply yourself. Your institution picks the top-performing students by their grades, publishes the list of recipients and reports it to the Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES) for payment.
