About this scholarship
Benefit
In your first year, you’ll receive a discount on your tuition fees worth up to 50% if you’re one of the top-performing first-year students at an Ensino Lusófona institution. How much you save depends on your degree programme:
- Bachelor's (Licenciatura) or Integrated Master's: 50% off your tuition for the 2026/2027 academic year.
- Master's (2nd cycle): 30% in your first year of study, or 40% if you have already studied at an ‘Ensino Lusófona’ institution.
- Vocational Higher Education Course (CTeSP): 30% in your first year of study, or 40% if you are coming from an ‘Ensino Lusófona’ institution.
‘Ensino Lusófona’ is a Portuguese network of universities and institutes. It comprises the Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon and Porto, as well as ISMAT, ISDOM, IPLUSO and ISLA in Gaia and Santarém. The network awards this prize every year to its best first-year students. It cannot be combined with any other study grant from the same network.
Eligibility
- Where you study: You enrol at one of the ‘Ensino Lusófona’ institutions in Portugal.
- Study stage: You are a new student and are starting a Bachelor’s, integrated Master’s, Master’s or CTeSP degree programme in 2026/2027.
- Grades (Bachelor's and CTeSP): Your application has an average score of 160 points or more on a scale of 0 to 200.
- Grades (Master's): You obtained your bachelor’s degree from a Portuguese higher education institution in 2024/2025 or 2025/2026 with a final grade point average of 17 out of 20 or higher (rounded to the nearest whole number).
- Field of study: Any subject offered by the group.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Enrolment timing: Enrolment must take place within 5 working days of admission. Master’s students must be admitted by 1 September 2026 and must enrol by 24 September 2026.
How to apply
No separate application is required. The group’s academic office automatically checks who meets the criteria and grants the discount. If you are selected, you will receive an invitation to the graduation ceremony, which you must attend in person to receive your award.
