About this scholarship
Erasmus+ mobility grant at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu
You will receive 500 EUR per month to cover your travel and living expenses whilst studying or undertaking an internship at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (IPV) in Portugal. The exact amount depends on your home country and destination country and changes every year. The International Office at your home university will confirm the applicable rate. A study period lasts from 3 to 12 months, whilst an internship lasts from 2 to 12 months. You can combine both during the same academic year. There are no tuition fees at IPV, and each semester is worth 30 ECTS credits (the European standard unit of measurement for study load).
Who can apply
- Your home university: You are studying at a higher education institution that has an Erasmus+ partnership with the IPV and has nominated you for the exchange.
- Degree level: You are a Bachelor’s student.
- Field of study: Any subject is eligible, for example agriculture, health, education, business, engineering, sport, social work, technology or tourism.
- Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply. If you are not an EU citizen and are staying in the country for longer than 90 days, you will need a national D visa.
- Language: You must have at least a B2 level in English or Portuguese. Most courses are taught in Portuguese, although there is an international semester taught in English.
- Grades: Selection depends mainly on your weighted average mark. First-time applicants and students in the second half of their degree programme have an advantage in this regard.
How to apply
Your home university will first nominate you to the IPV’s International Office. You will then receive your login details for the MobilidadeNET online platform, where you should submit your application. The application deadline is 15 June for the first semester and 30 November for the second semester. If you are accepted, you will receive an official letter of admission.
