Escola Superior de Saúde Norte da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa - Bolsa de Estudo por Merito ESSNorteCVP

Benefit

You receive a one-off payment worth five times the Portuguese monthly minimum wage, set at the start of each academic year. With the 2024 minimum wage of 870 EUR per month, that is about 4,350 EUR for one academic year. The amount does not depend on your or your family's income. It is awarded by the Escola Superior de Saude Norte da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa (ESSNorteCVP), a private health-sciences college linked to the Portuguese Red Cross, as a reward for strong academic results.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled in a bachelor's degree (licenciatura) at ESSNorteCVP in Portugal.
• Field of study: Your degree is in health sciences, for example nursing.
• Grades: In the previous academic year you passed every course with no subjects left to retake. You also reached an average of at least 16 out of 20 (the grade 'Muito Bom').
• Financial need: None. You get this award regardless of your income.

How to apply

There is no application to submit. ESSNorteCVP picks eligible students automatically from their study results, and the college's scientific council (Conselho Tecnico-Cientifico) decides the awards. If more students qualify than there are places, the one with the higher average that year ranks ahead. Results are published after the academic year ends.
