About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a monthly grant as a grant towards your tuition fees at NOVA University Lisbon (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa). There is no fixed amount. The amount is calculated on a case-by-case basis and depends on your family’s income. The grant is valid for one academic year and can be renewed annually.

Depending on your circumstances, you may be entitled to additional financial support:

  • A housing allowance if you have to move away to study.
  • A transport benefit if you are a displaced student in Portugal's autonomous regions.
  • A supplement if you have a disability of 60% or more.
  • An additional grant if you take part in an Erasmus+ exchange, i.e. if you undertake a period of study at a partner university abroad.

The funding comes from the Portuguese Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES). It is administered by the Social Services of NOVA University (SASNOVA). The project is co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Portuguese Government.
