General Description

The Institute of Historical Research has 7 research fellowships available from 7 different funds. The fellowship is intended to finance the completion of a doctoral thesis in history. The tenure is generally for one year and may be renewable. The amount of the award depends on the source of funds and ranges from £10,000 (Scouloudi, Thornley) to £15,726 (Royal Historical Society).

Requirements

Candidates should be doctoral students engaged who have completed at least 3 years of full time or 4 years of part time research in History. Eligibility requirement varies depending on the source of funds. Some funds are open to students regardless of nationality, some funds are only open to UK students, some are only open to PhD students from the University of London.
