General Description

The Mansion House Fund Scholarship and Prize in Irish is awarded to students enrolled at Constituent Universities. It is for those whose involvement and performance in certain disciplines offered by the university promotes the essence of Irish culture and language. The value of the scholarship ranges from €1,300 and €2,000. The Mansion House Fund Scholarship and Prize in Irish History is also offered by constituent universities. It aims to promote the appreciation and dissemination of Irish History. The value of this scholarship also ranges from €1,300 to €2,000.

Requirements

Automatic consideration is extended to students who are in their final year of a BA honours degree and who have excellent examination results in Irish. The offer is also extended to students enrolled in degrees where Irish is taught as a final year discipline. Applicants are assessed according to passes in the BA degree examination and the grammar, content and delivery of their required Irish text. Students who are interested in applying for the Mansion House Fund Scholarship and Prize in Irish History do not need to submit a separate application. Instead students are automatically considered if they are in their final year, have excellent grades in Irish history, and a performance in their BA degree which is considered outstanding.
