About this scholarship
UCA mobility grants: what you get
The University of Cadiz (UCA) funds its students to study abroad through several programmes. Under Erasmus+ KA131 you get a monthly living allowance that varies with your destination country, plus a travel grant. Both are paid from EU funds. Stays last from 60 days up to 12 months. Destinations include partner universities across Europe and, in a separate KA131 strand, Latin America, North Africa and the USA.
Two extra grants can stack on top:
- Santander for Erasmus+: 105 one-off grants of 1,000 EUR for KA131 undergraduate Erasmus students. 10 of these are reserved for students with a disability of 33% or more, or who held a state need-based grant the previous year.
- Santander-UCA Internacional: for study at UCA partner universities outside the European Erasmus scheme. In the most recent confirmed round (2024-25), this paid 700 EUR per month plus a travel grant based on distance.
KA171 covers Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral students going outside Europe. It comes in two forms: a tuition waiver only, or a full grant that also pays for travel and living costs.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled at UCA, on any of its Cadiz, Puerto Real, Jerez or Algeciras campuses.
- Degree level: KA131 is for Bachelor's (Grado) students. KA171 also opens to Master's and Doctoral students.
- Field of study: All subjects are eligible.
- Grades: Places are ranked mainly by your grade average, so strong marks decide who gets in.
- Language: You meet the language requirement of your host university.
- Bank account (Santander grants only): You hold a Banco Santander account to receive the Santander top-up.
- One programme only: If you qualify for more than one grant (PIMA, KA131 or KA171), you pick just one.
How to apply
Apply for Erasmus+ through the UCA Umove platform. For Santander-UCA Internacional, apply through Oriuca and register on Santander Open Academy. For the Santander for Erasmus+ 2026-27 top-up, the window ran from 3 December 2025 to 1 April 2026 on Santander Open Academy. Selection is by grade average.
How realistic are your chances?
These grants are only open to UCA students, so the pool is limited to one university from the start. Places and money go by grade ranking, so a strong average is what carries you. The Santander for Erasmus+ pot is fixed at 105 grants, so apply on time and aim for a good academic record to land near the top of the list.
