General Description

In an effort to increase human resources development and international collaboration, UNESCO and the Government of the Czech Republic are offering three long-term fellowships for undergraduate and graduate studies in the Czech Republic for students of eligible developing countries. Tuition fees will be covered for the entire duration of the programme which can span from three to six years depending on the area and level of study. Successful candidates will also receive a monthly allowance of 14,000 Czech crowns for living expenses and a round-trip air ticket. Health insurance and free basic medical care will be covered.

Requirements

Eligible candidates must be citizens of Afghanistan, Armenia, Belarus, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Libya, Peru, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tunisia, Yemen, Zambia or Zimbabwe. All bachelor degree candidates must hold a valid secondary education diploma and be no more than 28 years of age. Candidates to a master's programme must hold a bachelor's degree and be no more than 35 years of age. Students who wish to study in the fields of natural resources and environment, forestry water and landscape management, technology and environmental engineering, or economics and finance will be given priority. Beneficiaries of these fellowships are required to pursue a one-year preparatory Czech language course.
