What ESSEC Business School offers

ESSEC Business School in France offers various funding programmes, enabling you to complete a Master’s in Management or the Global BBA without having to cover the full cost of tuition fees yourself. The main form of financial support is a means-tested scholarship of up to about 5,200 EUR per year for students who already receive a scholarship from the French government (CROUS). In addition, there are entrepreneurship grants totalling 3,000 to 5,000 EUR, administered by the ESSEC Entrepreneurship & Innovation Centre, for students wishing to set up a business. Other programmes recognise academic excellence and support international students.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You have been admitted to or are enrolled at ESSEC Business School (with campuses in Cergy, near Paris, as well as in Singapore and Rabat).
• Programme: The means-tested scholarships are available for the ‘Management’ Master’s programme and the Global BBA.
• Field of study: Business and Management – the subject areas taught at ESSEC.
• Financial need: As far as means-tested grants are concerned, you are already receiving a grant from the French government (CROUS), the amount of which is based on your family’s income.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply; some programmes are specifically aimed at international students.
• Founders: You would like to use the start-up grants to set up your own business.

How realistic are your chances?

These scholarships are tied to a specific higher education institution, and means-tested scholarships require a CROUS grant, meaning that the pool of eligible applicants is significantly smaller than for open scholarships. If you have been admitted to ESSEC and clearly meet the income or start-up criteria, your chances are good. The entrepreneurship scholarships are the most sought-after – only a few are awarded each year – so a concrete business plan is the key factor that sets applicants apart.
