General Description
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology offers scholarships to international candidates who wish to enrol as research students at Japanese universities. The monthly allowance provided can reach a maximum of 145000 Yen (currently about 1020 Euro); it is granted for 24 months if the student comes to Japan in April and for 18 months if he/she comes to Japan in October (it may include 6 months of Japanese study training when required).
Requirements
Applicants must have completed a Bachelor´s degree; transcripts of their previous studies must prove a certain level of academic achievement. They must also pass a written examination to ensure that their knowledge of Japanese or English meets certain standards. Age limit is 35 years.
