About this scholarship
Academic Visit (EUSP)
You get between EUR 2,500 and EUR 5,000 for a research visit of 6 to 12 weeks at a European institution or laboratory abroad. The exact amount depends on how long you stay and which country you go to. The money covers your personal costs, such as travel, accommodation and insurance. You get 80% about a month before you start, and the last 20% once your report and cost overview are approved. During the visit you work alongside experts, aiming to produce an international peer-reviewed publication. The grant comes from the European Urological Scholarship Programme (EUSP) of the European Association of Urology (EAU).
Who can apply
- Field: You work in urology or a related area, in clinical work, academic research or both.
- Profession: You are a urologist, a urologist in training, a researcher, a scientist or a nurse.
- Membership: You have been an active EAU member for at least one year before you apply. 2026 is a transition year for this rule.
- Publications: You are first author or co-author of at least one peer-reviewed international publication listed on PubMed (with a PubMed ID).
- Where you go: Any nationality can apply. The visit must take place at a European institution outside your own country.
- One grant: You can receive only one EUSP grant.
How to apply
You apply online through the MyEAU portal. There are three deadlines each year: 1 January, 1 May and 1 September. The EUSP Board reviews all applications and tells you the result within three months of the deadline. Do not schedule your visit during this review period, or your application is rejected automatically.
How realistic are your chances?
This grant targets a narrow group: urologists and urology researchers who are EAU members and already have a PubMed publication. That publication requirement and a clear research plan separate strong applications from weak ones. If you meet the conditions and submit a well-structured project proposal with a solid host confirmation, your prospects are good. Three deadlines a year give you several chances to apply.
