About this scholarship

Agronomfonden travel grant

You will receive a grant for a study trip abroad in agriculture and related fields. The exact amount is not disclosed. A funding committee will decide on a case-by-case basis after reviewing your itinerary and budget. The fund is administered by Dansk Agronomforening, the Danish Association of Agronomists, which is now part of the academic trade union DM. You can apply individually or as a group, for example to attend conferences, visit institutions or undertake a work placement. A previous grant was used to fund a six-month work placement in Brussels, where the recipient worked on EU agricultural, environmental and climate policy.

Who can apply

  • Membership: You are a member of DM (formerly JA, the Danish Association for Graduates in Agricultural Sciences and Related Disciplines).
  • Study level: If you are a student, you must be enrolled on a Master’s degree programme. Bachelor’s students are not eligible to apply.
  • Field of study: Agriculture, horticulture, forestry or a related agricultural discipline.
  • Purpose: The scholarship covers a study trip for the purposes of professional development and the exchange of experiences, but does not cover general living expenses.
  • Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they are members of DM.

How to apply

You can apply twice a year, by 1 March or 1 September. Please use the application form appropriate to your situation (individual applicant, group of 2 to 5, or group of more than 5) and enclose a detailed itinerary for the trip. You must apply before you set off on your trip. Late applications will be considered in the next round.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a very specific target group: you must be a member of the DM in the field of agricultural sciences and, if you are a student, be studying for a Master’s degree. Very few people apply for this grant. If you meet these requirements and submit a clear, well-thought-out travel plan with a budget, your chances are good. Make sure to apply in good time before the deadline in March or September, and always before you set off.
