About this scholarship
What the French Government BGF Master 2 scholarship gives you
For the final year of a Master’s degree in France, you will receive approximately 770 EUR net per month. Payment is made over a period of 1 to 10 months within an academic year. If your stay lasts longer than 3 months, you will also receive a one-off payment of 700 EUR at the start of your stay. The scholarship covers your tuition fees and health insurance. You will be given priority when allocating rooms in a student hall of residence, and your transfer from the airport to your university town in France will be covered. The scholarship is awarded by the French Embassy in Poland (Institut Français / Campus France Pologne). Travel costs between Poland and France are not covered, and you cannot combine this scholarship with an Erasmus+ grant.
Who can apply
- Nationality: You are a Polish citizen.
- Where you go: You are in the final year of a Master’s degree programme in France (Master 2, Bac+5 level, equivalent to the Polish Magisterium).
- Prior study: You have completed a degree programme lasting at least four years. You hold a degree certificate that entitles you to enrol at a French university.
- Institution: Universities, universities of applied sciences, business schools and technical colleges, as well as Master’s degree programmes (Master of Science or Master of Arts), are all taken into account.
- Field of study: Most degree programmes are eligible for funding. Exceptions are MBA programmes and arts subjects (music, fine arts, theatre, circus, film); arts programmes form a separate BGF category.
- Languages: You speak French well, or English well if your degree programme is taught in English.
- Priority: Where candidates are equally qualified, preference will be given to those who still live in Poland and have never had the opportunity to travel to France.
How to apply
You should submit your application to Campus France Pologne. Please enclose proof that you are enrolled at, or have applied to, a French higher education institution. The application deadline was at the beginning of March (4 March for the 2022/2023 round), and the results are usually announced in April.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is restricted in scope: only Polish students who are transferring to France to undertake the final year of a Master’s degree programme are eligible to apply, with the exception of MBA programmes and subjects in the humanities. As a result, the pool of applicants is smaller than for open scholarships, meaning that a well-suited candidate has good prospects. The call for applications was suspended in 2021 for budgetary reasons; you should therefore check whether a call is currently open before basing your plans on it. It is advisable to apply early.
