About this scholarship

UPO Latin America mobility grant

You get a one-off travel allowance of 900 EUR plus 431.11 EUR per month for the length of your stay. This lets you spend one semester at a partner university in Latin America. The Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in Seville runs this exchange from its own funds, with around 20 places in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Ecuador. The stay lasts one semester, cannot be extended, and takes place between 1 August and 31 December 2025. You may combine the grant with state study grants. The courses you pass abroad count towards your UPO degree.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled in a Bachelor's or double-degree programme at one of UPO's own centres in 2024/2025.
  • Residence: You live in Spain.
  • Credits: You have passed at least 48 credits by the time you apply.
  • Study year: You are at least in your second year when the stay abroad starts.
  • Continuing: You will stay enrolled in the same programme at UPO in 2025/2026.
  • Field of study: Your subject matches one of the places on offer, for example Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Business, Sport Sciences or Computer Engineering.
  • First time: You have not taken part in this programme before.
  • Clean record: You have had no penalty in an ARIC international exchange programme in the last 3 years.
  • Disability: One place per faculty is reserved for students with a recognised disability above 33%, who get priority if they fit the place.

How to apply

You apply online through the ARIC form on the UPO website by 7 April 2025, ranking your preferred destinations in order. Selection is based on your grade average, weighted by how far you are into your degree. If grades tie, more credits wins. Your final place also depends on the host university accepting you.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is narrow: only UPO Bachelor's students in specific subjects compete, and each destination has just one or two places, so few people chase any single spot. Because places are ranked by grade average, a strong record and a well-chosen preference list decide it. Pick destinations where your subject clearly fits, and your prospects are good.
