About this scholarship
Benefit: what you get
University of Twente (UT) students doing an internship or graduation project abroad receive EUR 480-540 per month through the EU's Erasmus+ programme. The rate depends on where you go: EUR 540/month in higher-cost countries (such as Germany, France, Ireland or Sweden) and EUR 480/month in medium- or lower-cost countries (such as Spain, Poland or Croatia). Funding is capped at 2 months per degree phase (Bachelor or Master); this cap was tightened for academic year 2026-2027.
You also receive a one-off travel allowance based on the distance between Enschede and your placement location, ranging from EUR 28 (10-99 km) to EUR 580 (3,000-3,999 km). Destinations under 10 km from Enschede receive no travel allowance. If you travel more than half the journey by train, bus, bike or carpooling, a higher green-travel rate applies.
Two top-ups are available if you qualify. Students with financial barriers (low income or welfare support) receive an extra EUR 250/month; eligibility is verified through a Dutch DUO statement. Students with a disability or health limitation also qualify for this EUR 250/month top-up. Students with a disability who have additional travel costs can also claim a one-off EUR 100 inclusion supplement.
