International Brain Research Organization - IBRO Travel Grants (Research Area: Neurology)

Benefit: what you get

The International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) covers travel costs to attend neuroscience conferences run by IBRO member societies. Awards are one-off per event, not a monthly stipend. The ceiling depends on the conference: smaller regional events typically grant EUR 275-640, while major international congresses such as the FENS Forum or the SfN annual meeting go up to roughly EUR 2,300 (about USD 2,500). IBRO pays 80% before the conference and the remaining 20% after you submit a short final report.

Eligibility

• Field: You work in neuroscience or a closely related area such as neurology or brain biology.
• Career stage: You are an early-career researcher. Career breaks for parental, carer or military leave count toward your career stage.
• Nationality and residence: All nationalities can apply. For some regional grants, eligibility is based on where you currently live, not your passport. Residents and citizens of North Korea, Venezuela and Crimea cannot apply. If you live in Iran, Cuba or Belarus, US Treasury clearance is required and can take over 12 months.
• IBRO membership: Not required for most travel grants.
