Conservatorium van Amsterdam - Keep an Eye Summer Jazz Workshop Scholarship

What you get

Everyone accepted into the Keep an Eye Summer Jazz Workshop gets an automatic 300 EUR off the 950 EUR course price, so you pay 650 EUR. A few extra partial scholarships go to standout applicants. The amount is set case by case, so ask the workshop office if you want to be considered. The workshop runs for five days, from 22 to 26 June 2026, with an optional meet-and-greet on 21 June, at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. It is funded by the Keep an Eye Foundation. Each day you play in a concert combo, take an improvisation class, get a masterclass and individual lessons on your instrument, and choose electives on composition, interplay and the music business. Evenings bring concerts and jam sessions. Travel, accommodation and meals are not included.

Who can apply

• Level: You are an advanced jazz musician, either a professional or a student.
• Field: You play jazz on your instrument.
• Where you study: Anyone can apply. You do not need to be enrolled at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Age: No age limit.
• Cheaper or free places: Conservatorium van Amsterdam bachelor's and master's students take part free of charge (limited places, full attendance required). Its alumni who graduated in 2020 or later pay half the fee (325 EUR).

How to apply

You apply through an online form on the workshop's How to Apply page. You submit three video links (YouTube, Vimeo or similar) showing two standards at different tempos plus one own composition or free choice, with improvisation and a rhythm section. Conservatorium van Amsterdam students and alumni need only one video of their choice. The deadline for 2026 is 1 June 2026. Places per instrument are limited and applications are reviewed as they come in, so apply early.

How realistic are your chances?

The 300 EUR discount is automatic for everyone who gets in, so the real question is admission to the workshop, which is limited to advanced players and capped per instrument. If your playing is at the required level and your videos are strong, a place is realistic, especially if you apply well before the deadline. The extra partial scholarships are much scarcer and reserved for outstanding candidates, so treat them as a bonus, not something to count on.
