About this scholarship
Benefit
You get up to about EUR 23,000 (£20,000) for the 2026/27 academic year, paid straight towards your tuition fees at the University of Warwick in the UK. Only one bursary is given each year. It honours Li Xiaoming, a Warwick graduate who died in the 2010 Haiti earthquake while serving as a United Nations peacekeeper. It rewards students who combine strong grades with a commitment to serving society.
Eligibility
- Nationality: You are a national of the People's Republic of China.
- Degree: You have applied for a taught master's course starting October 2026 at Warwick. A taught master's is built around lectures and seminars, not just research.
- Field of study: Any taught master's subject is fine.
- Contribution to society: You can show how your studies at Warwick and your future career will benefit society.
How to apply
You cannot apply for this bursary yourself. Once you have applied for a taught master's course, your academic department automatically considers you. Each department may nominate one candidate by 12 June 2026. The winner is told by the end of June 2026.
How realistic are your chances?
Only one bursary is awarded each year, and the eligible group is small: Chinese nationals starting a taught master's at Warwick in October 2026. Because your department picks its single nominee, the real hurdle is standing out within your subject on both grades and a convincing case for how your career will serve society. A strong, well-evidenced contribution-to-society story is what decides it.
