What the NTU International Scholarships give you

You get a cut in your tuition fees, from about 2,300 EUR (£2,000) up to 50% off your fees, at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in England. You do not receive cash. The money comes straight off your tuition bill once you enrol. One application puts you in the running for all the awards at once. The main award, the NTU Excellence Scholarship, gives 25% or 50% off your first year. If you study for a Bachelor's, it adds about 3,450 EUR (£3,000) off each later year, except a work-placement year. Other awards include country- and subject-specific ones worth up to about 4,600 EUR (£4,000), a High Achievers Award, and a bonus in your first year if a sibling also studies at NTU. Last year NTU gave out more than 1,300 scholarships to students from over 80 countries.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You have an offer for a full-time Bachelor's or Master's course at NTU. Research degrees (PhD/MPhil) do not count. Some courses are excluded, such as all PGCE and certain LLM and part-time courses.
• New student: You are starting your first year, or joining year 2 or 3 directly. Students already enrolled at NTU cannot apply.
• Fee status: You count as an international student who pays overseas fees.
• Grades: You have strong academic results. Some awards, like the High Achievers Award, need a graded transcript (an official record of your marks).
• Not fully sponsored: No employer, government or other funder already pays your fees in full or in part.
• Field of study: Open to a wide range of subjects across all NTU schools, from art and design to business, law, science and engineering.

How to apply

Once you have an offer, you fill in one online form. You are then considered for every award you qualify for. The heart of the application is a written scholarship statement, and AI-generated text is not accepted. Deadlines come in rounds, and you hear back within five weeks of the deadline you applied by. Applications for September 2026 are closed. Entry for January 2027 opens later in 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

NTU calls these awards competitive, but with over 1,300 given out each year the pool is large, so a well-matched applicant has a real shot. Grades open the door, but the written scholarship statement decides it, so put your effort there. Applying in an early round helps, since decisions are made round by round.
