TECH Scholarship at CUAS (FH Kärnten)

You get EUR 8,400 for your first year of a Master's degree at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) in Austria, paid as EUR 700 per month across the 1st and 2nd semester. For the 3rd and 4th semester you move into a part-time job of up to 20 hours a week at a partner company or in the university's research department, so you keep earning while you study. You also get a free German course, from beginner to intensive level, to help you find work in the region afterwards. Four scholarships are on offer for the autumn semester 2026/27, starting 1 October 2026. CUAS runs the programme with local companies and associations to bring skilled graduates into Carinthia's industry.

Who can apply

• Degree: You hold a strong Bachelor's degree and have not yet finished a Master's.
• Field of study: You are admitted to one of ten eligible Master's programmes at CUAS in engineering, IT or civil engineering, such as Applied Data Science, Civil Engineering, Medical Engineering & Analytics or Systems Design.
• Where you study: At CUAS in Austria. If your programme runs in the flexible High-Flex format, you must still be on site for the whole degree.
• Nationality: You are a citizen of one of 58 listed countries across Europe, South America or Mexico.
• Residence: You do not live in Austria when you apply, and you do not hold Austrian citizenship.
• Tuition: You pay your tuition fees in full, including the ÖH student union contribution.

How to apply

First apply for one of the eligible Master's programmes through the CUAS application portal. If you fit the criteria, you receive an email with a link to apply for the scholarship itself. The scholarship deadline is 15 May 2026, and selected students are notified by the end of June 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is narrow: only four places, for graduates from a defined set of countries entering ten specific technical Master's programmes at one university. The eligible group is small, so if you clearly match the field, nationality and residence rules and bring a strong Bachelor's degree, your prospects are real. Apply early and secure your Master's admission first, since the scholarship link only comes after you qualify.
