About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a 50% discount on your tuition fees for a full-time Master’s degree programme at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. The amount will be deducted directly from your tuition fees and will not be paid out to you in cash. It covers only the first year, so you will need to pay the remaining half yourself. Sheffield Hallam University offers this funding to attract high-achieving international students to its on-campus Master’s programmes.
Who can apply
- Degree level: You have been offered a place on a full-time Master’s programme (Master’s with lectures), and this is your first Master’s degree. If you already hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification – regardless of where you obtained it – you are not eligible to apply.
- Previous grades: You have achieved a grade of at least 2:1 in your Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification. A 2:1 corresponds to a ‘Upper Second Class’ in the British grading system.
- Field of study: Open to all degree programmes, with the exception of foundation courses.
- Where you study: The degree programme must be undertaken at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK, not at a partner university abroad.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities, provided you are classified as an international fee-paying student.
- Financial need: You are funding your studies yourself, without support from the state, an employer, a company or a scholarship. Money from family members or friends is also considered self-funding.
- Ability to pay the rest: You can cover the remaining half of the tuition fees, as well as any additional costs, such as field trips.
- English: You meet the language and academic entry requirements for your degree programme.
How to apply
First, apply for your degree programme and accept the offer. Then complete the online scholarship form and email your academic transcripts to the university. You will need the student registration number assigned to you by the university following your application to study; otherwise your scholarship application will not be considered. The application deadline for the January 2027 intake is 1 November 2026. Selection is competitive and is based solely on the information you provide in the form.
How realistic are your chances?
Selection is based on your academic record and your potential to represent the university. A clear 2:1 or better, together with a compelling application, will therefore give you a good chance of success. The scholarship is open to students of all disciplines and nationalities; it is therefore highly sought-after, and only students commencing their first postgraduate programme are eligible to apply. Make sure you obtain your confirmation of admission and your student ID card in good time, as you cannot submit the scholarship application form without these documents.
