What the Tyge Kjer Family Scholarship offers

You will receive a financial grant towards your studies in Denmark. The amount is determined on a case-by-case basis; there is neither a fixed sum nor a set duration for the grant. This is a family scholarship: it was established in memory of the captain and wine merchant Tyge Kjer and his wife Gertrud Marie Kjer, and is awarded exclusively to their own descendants. The aim is to enable you to live comfortably or to support you in bringing up your children.

Who can apply

• Family link: You are a direct descendant of Tyge Kjer and Gertrud Marie Kjer. This is the key criterion that excludes all individuals outside the family.
• Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
• Where you study: Any university or higher education institution, as long as you are studying in Denmark.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they can prove the family connection mentioned above.
• Financial need: You need financial support, but you are not destitute. The grant is intended to supplement your own resources and is not meant to be your sole source of income.

How to apply

Please contact the scholarship administrator to request the application form. Submit your application by 15 April. The scholarships will be paid out in May.
