About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive 1,200 PLN per month (about 280 EUR) for up to 9 months of the academic year. Each grant is valid for one academic year. You may reapply each year, provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria, for a maximum of 12 semesters throughout your degree programme. The University of Bielsko-Biała (Uniwersytet Bielsko-Bialski, UBB), formerly the Akademia Techniczno-Humanistyczna (ATH), awards this grant to its own top students.

Eligibility

  • University: You’re studying at the University of Bielsko-Biała in Poland.
  • Degree: You are studying on a Bachelor’s degree programme.
  • Timing: Applications are submitted after completing the first year of study.
  • Achievements: You must have a grade point average of at least 4.00 on the Polish grading scale ranging from 2 to 5. Academic or artistic achievements are taken into account, as are sporting achievements at national level or higher. Additional activities such as involvement in research groups, student representative bodies or an Erasmus exchange will earn you further points.
  • First-year exception: You can apply in your first year of study if two conditions are met. Firstly: you must have started your degree in the same year that you took your Matura (the Polish equivalent of the A-levels). Secondly: you must have won an international Olympiad, won a national Olympiad or reached the final, or become Polish champion in a sport.
  • Field of study and nationality: All subjects and all nationalities can apply.
  • Exclusions: You are not eligible for this if you already hold a Master’s degree and are undertaking a Bachelor’s degree programme again. If you are enrolled on more than one degree programme, you will only receive funding for one of them.

How to apply

You apply online via the university’s USOS student portal and submit your academic transcripts to the Registrar’s Office. The deadlines are 15 October for the winter semester and 16 March for the summer semester. Late applications will not be considered. The university compiles a ranking list of all applicants based on their scores and awards the scholarships to those with the highest scores.
