World Citizen Talent Scholarship (THUAS)

You will receive a one-time payment of 5,000 EUR for a Master’s degree at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) in the Netherlands. The university awards the scholarship itself and grants up to 3 scholarships each year to international students who see themselves as global citizens. It is paid as a one-off sum, not in monthly instalments.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are starting a Master’s degree, not a Bachelor’s degree.
• Programme: You will enrol on one of three Master’s programmes: Business Administration, Financial Management and Control, or International Communication Management.
• Admission: You have been offered a conditional place on your chosen degree programme for the coming academic year.
• Where you come from: You are from abroad and do not live in the Netherlands. Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply.
• First time: This is your first enrolment at THUAS, and you have never applied for this scholarship before.

How to apply

First, apply for your Master’s programme via the university’s online application portal. You should then write an essay in English, between 950 and 1,100 words in length, on how working with people from different backgrounds has shaped your perspective. Submit this by 1 May 2026 via the online form. AI tools such as ChatGPT are not permitted. A panel will read all essays, select the three best ones and inform you of the result by email.

How realistic are your chances?

Each year, no more than three scholarships are awarded, and the decision is based solely on your essay – so there is genuine competition. As the scholarship is restricted to three specific Master’s programmes and to students from abroad, the pool of applicants is smaller than for open scholarships. A well-written, honest essay that clearly answers the question is what will set you apart from the rest – so make sure you put a lot of effort into it.
