About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a scholarship to fund your studies in Sweden. It is financed from a fund administered by Hvitfeldtska Gymnasium in Gothenburg. The amount of the scholarship is not disclosed. It depends on your financial circumstances and your academic performance. You can apply either for both the coming spring and autumn semesters together, or for the spring semester only.
Who can apply
- Your old school: You completed upper secondary education (the student examination or an equivalent ‘slutbetyg’, the Swedish school-leaving certificate) at Hvitfeldtska Upper Secondary School in Gothenburg.
- Current studies: You now study at a university or university college in Sweden.
- Field of study: All subjects are open.
- Grades: The fund takes into account your academic achievements and the credits you have earned to date.
- Financial need: You must provide details of your entire financial situation for the coming year, including your income, assets and debts. The fund will assess your financial circumstances.
How to apply
Please post the completed application form to Hvitfeldtska Grammar School. It must be received between 1 September and 1 December. Applications received outside this period will not be processed, and incomplete applications will be rejected.
How realistic are your chances?
This grant is very narrowly targeted. Only former pupils of a school in Gothenburg who are currently studying in Sweden are eligible to apply, meaning that there are only a few applicants competing for this grant. If you fit this profile and can provide clear evidence of both your academic progress and your financial need, your chances are good. Please submit your complete application in good time before the deadline in December.
