About this scholarship

Fortification Corps Research Fund grant

You will receive a grant to fund a research or development project in the field of protective technology. This includes fortifications and defences such as blast-resistant concrete, reinforced buildings or the protection of civilian infrastructure. When submitting your application, you must specify the amount required and provide evidence of this in the form of a budget plan and a timetable for your project. Previous grants have been used to fund, amongst other things, a mobile 3D concrete printer, a university study on reinforced concrete beams under dynamic loading, and a study trip to a trade fair on internal security. The funding comes from the Fortification Corps Research Fund (Stiftelsen Fortifikationskårens Forskningsfond), a Swedish foundation that awards grants from the income generated by its assets.

Who can apply

  • Who you are: You are a military officer or a civilian who works on protection technology.
  • Your track record: You have already made a significant contribution to safety technology, or your project is expected to do so.
  • Field: Your project focuses on protection and fortification technology, including defence-related construction projects.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Where you work: Any setting is fine.

How to apply

Applications are made via the online form on the Foundation’s website. You will need to provide your contact details, a project name and description, the amount of funding requested, and a planned start date. You must also attach a full project description, including a budget and timetable. The Foundation’s board decides who receives funding.
