Astrid and Einar Holmgren Foundation Support Fund

You will receive a need-based grant to cover your living and study costs whilst you are studying at university. The exact amount is not disclosed. The fund is financed from the annual returns on its assets, and the board determines each year how much each applicant will receive. The local parish of the Church of Sweden in Köping administers the fund to help young people from Köping complete their studies if financial constraints would otherwise prevent them from doing so.

Who can apply

• Where you're from: You are, or were, registered as a resident in the municipality of Köping in Sweden.
• Age: You are between 18 and 25 years old.
• Level of study: You study after upper-secondary school (gymnasium), at a university or in vocational training.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Financial need: Without financial support, you will not be able to complete your training. That is the key criterion.

How to apply

Please send a written application by post to the Foundation at the Köpingsbygden parish office. The application deadline is 3 August. If you are reapplying for the second or third year, please enclose a current certificate of enrolment (studieintyg, proof of enrolment).

How realistic are your chances?

The eligibility criteria for this grant are very strict. You must be between 18 and 25 years of age, be a resident of the municipality of Köping, be undertaking a degree course, and be able to demonstrate a genuine financial need. This ensures that the group of eligible applicants remains small and that competition is local. If you clearly meet these conditions and can demonstrate your need, your chances are good. Apply by the deadline in August, as the fund only distributes the annual returns on its assets.
