Torsten and Maria Magnussons Scholarship

You will receive a one-off cash scholarship for your studies after secondary school, i.e. for any degree course or vocational training programme at this level. The amount is reviewed each year and is not announced in advance. You can only receive this grant once. The funds come from a Swedish church foundation, which was established in 2007 and supports young people from three parishes near Lammhult.

Who can apply

• Study phase: You have been admitted to a post-secondary course or training and have already started it.
• Age: You are under 30.
• Church membership: You are a permanent member of the Church of Sweden (Svenska kyrkan).
• Where you live: You are registered in the parishes of Aneboda, Asa or Berg, or you were registered there before you started studying.
• Field of study: All topics are permitted.

When making its selection, the foundation also takes into account the gender balance, your field of study, the duration of your studies and whether you have applied before.

How to apply

Please send your application by email to the Foundation. Please enclose the application form, proof of identity (Personbevis), a certificate of enrolment stating your subjects of study, and a personal cover letter of no more than one page. The application deadline is 11 December. You must attend the award ceremony in person; in 2025, this will take place on 16 February in Lammhult.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is presented to very few people. You must be under 30 years of age, a member of the Church of Sweden and belong to one of three small parishes, meaning that very few people are eligible and the pool of applicants is tiny. If you clearly meet these criteria, your chances are good. As you can only receive it once, it’s worth applying early on in your studies.
